Study your CIM Qualifications from the comfort of your own home or office with our Zoom virtual classes. And, to make things even better, we now offer virtual recordings of our CIM courses direct from our support site.
Marketing Tom has always delivered face-to-face digital marketing courses but the current climate has meant that we have to offer most of our courses as Virtual Classrooms and this includes our CIM courses. We are not completely new to Remote Learning and have delivered quite a few courses over the past couple of years. The primary applications we use are WebEx and Zoom which allow us to display slides online, share our browser window and communicate seamlessly with students.
So, how does it work?
It is pretty simple really. Here’s what you need:
- a laptop, desktop or tablet device,
- an Internet connection
- the Zoom application.
Before courses start we will send you out a Zoom invite, from where you can click on the day and join your class. We would recommend that you download the Zoom app and, for the best viewing experience it would be best if you use a desktop or laptop. Should you require we can arrange to set up a “quick meeting” to test that everything works before the training session.
How is the class delivered?
Whether it’s the CIM Level 3, 4 or 6 qualifications your tutor will primarily deliver the course through PowerPoint, though there will a lot of discussion and student participation and some work will be done by tutors on flipcharts. Tutors also make use of breakout rooms, shared videos and whiteboards to make sessions as interactive as possible. As we are using WebEx/Zoom tutors will also be able to share other resources online such as browser (web) pages and other applications.
How do students find the experience?
We have run CIM courses via virtual courses since March 2020 and the feedback from students has been very positive. They like the format, the interaction, the fact that they can access the ‘live’ sessions after the course and that the courses are now delivered in shorter sessions (in-person courses run for 7 hours but the virtual courses are delivered in 2 or 4-hour sessions). On top of that we have had more students on our courses and our students have achieved better results from virtual courses than from in-person courses.
For some of our coiurses, and in agreement with your tutors, you can arrange Zoom calls to discuss how you will approach your report or to discuss your report’s progress.
