Sustainability

(CIM Level 6 Diploma)

Cardiff  |  Face-to-face Virtual

The Sustainability module has been designed to give learners the opportunity to demonstrate the knowledge and understanding of marketing’s role in creating a sustainable environment.

The module enables the marketer to explore key concepts of sustainability to gain a better understanding of the level of change that the organisation can achieve and how marketing facilitates that change. You will consider the role of marketing in engaging with stakeholders (with the natural world established as a key stakeholder) to understand how to reframe core strategies and construct a brand purpose that aligns with relevant sustainability imperatives.

The module will equip you to plan, resource and execute key actions, and communicate how and why your organisation is responding to the evolving sustainability agenda.

It is one of the mandatory modules of the CIM Diploma in Sustainable Marketing.

  • Evaluate ways to collaborate and co-create with stakeholders to deliver change.

Unit 3: Implementing sustainability

  • Create an action plan to implement change and measure results through effective metrics.

Assessment: Assignment

How long will it take to study?

Each module takes 3 days of class time to complete; there are 3 modules in total. For this module the tutor will also agree tutorials with the students. Please note that if the course is delivered virtually it will be delivered over three days or 6 evenings. We offer 1 cohort per year.

How is the course delivered?

The CIM Level 6 Diplomas are currently being run as a Virtual ‘Live’ Classroom. This means you can watch and participate in the course from the comfort of your own home or office. Tutors use a variety of techniques to give students the best possible learning outcome:

  • Presentation slides
  • Videos
  • Open class discussion
  • Breakout rooms
  • Whiteboards

One big benefit of delivering courses through this method is that students can also view the sessions again as each session is recorded.

Times may vary and many sessions are now run in the evening. Recent sessions have been delivered over 6 weekday evenings for around 2.5-3 hours. Students seem to prefer this approach.

For any individual 1-to-1 session, students can arrange this as a telephone session or a Zoom session (depending on tutor availability).
