Who Is Your Company’s Robert Scoble?

If you’ve never heard of Robert Scoble, here’s the Wikipedia lowdown:

Robert Scoble (born January 18, 1965) is an American blogger, technical evangelist, and author. Scoble is best known for his blog, Scobleizer, which came to prominence during his tenure as a technical evangelist at Microsoft.

On his blog Scobleizer he talks about the latest digital trends. He uses every sort of social media tool possible: from Twitter, Facebook and Buzz to YouTube, Friendfeed and Flickr. Pretty much everything that Scoble does is in the form of a dialogue and it works incredibly well. He can see a social media opportunity in pretty much any circumstance and uses camera, video, laptop, desktop and mobile devices to get the stories across. On Marketing Tom’s Social Media courses we often discuss how companies can identify a ‘social media champion’, ‘company geek’ or digital ambassador who sees opportunities and photographs, documents, tweets or videos them. These people allow your target market to see through the concrete walls of your company and observe how it works. Each day we are becoming more digitally social and, to an increasing extent, we are also expecting the organisation’s and companies we deal with to be so. People like Robert Scoble help reveal the personalities and characters behind a brand or a logo – they reveal its softer, more human side.

So, who is your company’s Robert Scoble?
